• We are seeking an experienced veterinary professional to serve as a Veterinary Patient Care & Medical Liaison. This position will help bridge communication between our clients, veterinarians, technicians,
• pharmacies, and patient-care team while ensuring important medical follow-up tasks are completed accurately and timely. This is an ideal position for an experienced veterinary assistant, technician, or veterinary CSR with strong medical knowledge who enjoys client communication, organization, and following patient care from start to finish.
• We need someone who understands veterinary medicine well enough to recognize what needs attention, what can be handled independently, and what needs to go directly to a veterinarian or technician. The right person is proactive, organized, comfortable communicating with clients, and doesn’t allow medical requests to sit unfinished. The goal of this position is simple: close the loop. When a client calls about medication, results, follow-up care, or a medical question, we want someone helping ensure that request reaches the correct person, gets completed, is documented, and doesn’t disappear into a pile of unfinished callbacks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription and medication refill requests.
• Communicate with veterinarians regarding medications requiring medical approval.
• Process and follow up on outside and online pharmacy requests.
• Complete medical callbacks and patient follow-up communications.
• Assist with communicating laboratory results and veterinarian recommendations as
• directed by the medical team.
• Track outstanding medical communications to ensure clients receive appropriate
• follow-up.
• Contact clients regarding overdue medical recommendations or required follow-up care.
• Help coordinate rechecks and follow-up appointments when appropriate.
• Document all client communications accurately in the patient’s medical record.
• Review incoming medical records and route important information to the appropriate
• team member.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with administrative medical tasks that do not require
• direct patient care.
• Identify outstanding tasks and proactively follow them through completion.
• Work closely with the CSR, technician, and veterinarian teams to prevent communication
• gaps.
• Help improve the hospital’s overall client communication and continuity of patient care

Requirements

• 3+ years of veterinary medicine experience strongly preferred.
• Previous veterinary assistant, technician, LVT/RVT/CVT, or experienced veterinary CSR background preferred.
• Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, medications, preventative care, diagnostics, and common treatment recommendations.
• Excellent telephone and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Comfortable managing multiple open tasks and following them through completion.
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients regarding medical information while recognizing when questions must be escalated to a veterinarian.
• Experience working with veterinary practice-management software preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong medical-record documentation skills.
