• Manager, Category Management & Strategic Sourcing (74) - Remote
• This role is considered to be an established and experienced professional who actively applies broad knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, technology procurement, and business process improvement. This position works under minimal supervision and is a self-directed, results-oriented individual contributor. The incumbent must be capable of independently prioritizing work, managing multiple initiatives, navigating ambiguity, and influencing stakeholders while delivering measurable business results.

Responsibilities

• 1. Lead complex, enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations across technology and indirect spend categories.
• 2. Develop and execute category strategies that align with business objectives, operational priorities, and financial goals.
• 3. Conduct market research and maintain a working knowledge of current business trends, including AI, technology, cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud services, pricing models, supplier capabilities, and market conditions.
• 4. Conduct ongoing benchmark reviews and perform financial analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments, business case development, and vendor proposal evaluations.
• 5. Influence and drive collaboration between cross-functional stakeholders for the development and execution of sourcing strategies that deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, operational improvements, and risk reduction.
• 6. Research, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers that can support organizational objectives, including technology, AI-enabled, and professional services providers.
• 7. Lead vendor selection activities including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, demonstrations, scoring exercises, and contract negotiations.
• 8. Responsible for vendor lifecycle management, cultivating and maintaining productive relationships between business owners, stakeholders, and vendors.
• 9. Develop and ensure appropriate agreements (Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, SaaS Agreements, License Agreements, Service Contracts, and related documents) are in place and comply with company, client, legal, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• 10. Develop vendor metrics and reporting tools; track supplier performance, savings, compliance, risk, service levels, and business outcomes.
• 11. Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), supplier performance reviews, and issue resolution meetings to ensure vendors meet contractual obligations and performance expectations.
• 12. Support AI and digital transformation initiatives by evaluating, sourcing, implementing, and governing AI-enabled tools and solutions that improve business performance and operational efficiency.
• 13. Partner with Technology, Information Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to evaluate AI vendors and ensure appropriate controls related to data privacy, security, intellectual property, governance, and regulatory compliance.
• 14. Identify opportunities to improve procurement, sourcing, vendor management, contract management, and business processes through automation, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• 15. Establish and cultivate strong working relationships with all vendors and stakeholders to ensure vendors are providing cost-effective, innovative, and compliant solutions.
• 16. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
• 17. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
• 18. Ensure compliance with Claritev security provisions.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma and 6 years of related experience; Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or related field strongly preferred. Experience in Information Technology, Healthcare Services, Managed Care, or Health Insurance preferred.
• Category management and strategic sourcing experience in Information Technology categories including Hardware, Software, SaaS, Cloud Services, Telecommunications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data, and Emerging Technologies.
• Experience developing and executing category strategies that deliver measurable cost savings, risk reduction, and operational improvements.
• Experience sourcing, implementing, managing, or supporting AI-enabled business tools, solutions, or technologies in a corporate environment.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities where AI, automation, analytics, or digital solutions can improve business processes, workflows, productivity, decision-making, or operational effectiveness.
• Experience with vendor lifecycle management and knowledge of vendor contracting and management principles.
• Experience writing and/or supporting Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), Master Service Agreements (MSA), Statements of Work (SOW), SaaS Agreements, and Service Contracts.
• Experience interpreting, evaluating, negotiating, and terminating complex technology contracts in a professional manner.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models, SaaS agreements, cloud services, vendor governance, and technology supplier management.
• Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI practices, data privacy requirements, security controls, and vendor risk management.
• Experience performance-managing strategic vendors and conducting supplier business reviews.
• Communication (oral, written and listening), project management, analytic, organization, interpersonal, collaborative, prioritization, multi-tasking, planning, negotiation, change management, technology, and financial acumen skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees, both internal and external.
• Ability to work independently as well as be a team player who takes a collaborative approach.
• Ability to facilitate teams, build stakeholder relationships, influence decisions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects while continuously evaluating and re-prioritizing work as business needs change.

• Ability to use software and peripherals related to job responsibilities, including Microsoft Office, procurement systems, contract management tools, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled business tools.
• Ability to adhere to corporate work ethic standards.
• Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Individual in this position must be able to work in a standard office environment which requires sitting and viewing monitor(s) for extended periods, operating standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, a keyboard, copier and telephone.
• SAP Ariba experience preferred.
• PSM, CSCP, CPM, PMP, or equivalent professional certifications preferred.

• The salary range for this position is $105k-$120k. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
