• US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Plano, TX

Responsibilities

• • Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• • Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• • Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• • Fill out testing orders per physician
• • Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• • Orders & explain testing to the patient
• • Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• • Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• • Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• • Escort patients to check-out
• • Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW
• • Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• • Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included
• • Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• • Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• • Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• • Cardiac Experience preferred but not required
• • Knowledge in medical terminology
