Job description

• ECHELON is looking for a culturally plugged-in Social Media Manager to own our organic social presence and help make the brand impossible to ignore online. This hands-on individual contributor turns our products, drops, partnerships, retail moments, events, and community into timely content that grows ECHELON's audience and cultural relevance.

Responsibilities

• Social Strategy and Execution
• Develop and execute ECHELON's social strategy and calendar across Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Discord, & more.
• Translate brand and marketing priorities into platform-native content while protecting ECHELON's distinct voice, humor, and visual identity.
• Stay plugged into internet culture, trends, memes, and emerging formats; move quickly on relevant opportunities without forcing the brand into conversations where it does not belong.
• Collaborate with the Brand Voice team to maintain brand sense of humor and voice. We take our products seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
• Own organic social around drops, launches, retail moments, partnerships, and events - from tease and reveal through launch-day reaction, UGC, and post-launch storytelling.
• Capture or coordinate content at key activations and work with internal teams, freelancers, and creative partners as needed.
• Community, Creators & UGC
• Be the pulse on ECHELON's audience and adjacent communities by monitoring and engaging across comments, DMs, tagged content, creators, brands, sentiment, and emerging conversations.
• Collaborate with the Influencer & Affiliate Manager to build a UGC pipeline across military Base Reps, ambassadors, athletes, creators, partners, and highly engaged customers.
• Partner closely with the Influencer & Affiliate Manager to amplify strong creator content on owned channels, surface organic creators, advocates, and brand opportunities for deeper partnership.
• Track social performance and community insights, maintain an organized content library, and report learnings and opportunities to the Director of Marketing.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in social media management, organic social, digital content, or a related role
• Portfolio demonstrating strong social-first content and meaningful organic engagement
• Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, X, short-form video, and current internet culture
• Experience coordinating with creative freelancers (photographers, videographers, editors) & managing production workflows
• Experience with online communities, UGC, creators, or ambassadors, with the ability to move fast and operate autonomously in a high-growth environment
• Working knowledge of social media management tools
• Excellent writing, brand voice, creative judgment, and sense of humor
• Ability to move fast, manage multiple workstreams, & prioritize effectively in a high-growth environment
• Background in DTC ecommerce, CPG, beverage, or culturally driven consumer brands
• Experience supporting product drops, retail moments, activations, or creator/ambassador programs
• Proven influencer or creator management experience, including scouting, briefing, & performance analysis
• Familiarity with fitness, wellness, & the military/veteran communities
