Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, address their needs, and answer questions about products and store policies.
- Efficiently operate the POS system to process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately.
- Handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments.
- Apply promotional codes and discounts accurately, and inform customers about ongoing sales and special offers.
- Ensure items are bagged properly to prevent damage, using environmentally friendly practices in line with Earth Fare’s commitment to sustainability.
- Maintain accurate cash drawers, manage cash flow, and ensure all transactions are balanced at the end of each shift.
- Stay informed about the natural and organic products sold in the store to assist customers effectively.
- Responsible for reconciliation and recording of cash register drawers and daily balancing of the Cash Office.
- Communication of cash or paperwork discrepancies, security issues, or customer service opportunities to the Front End Team Leader.
- Prepares daily bank deposits and change orders and prepares all cash office paperwork.
- Coaches and trains cashiers on the standard operating procedures for the department.
Requirements
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience required.
- Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Earth Fare experience preferred.
