Job description
- A highly regarded, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its sophisticated Commercial Real Estate practice in New Haven (preferred), Hartford or Stamford.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned paralegal who enjoys taking ownership of transactions and working directly with attorneys and clients on the financing, acquisition, and disposition of commercial real estate, including complex multi-family and multi-state transactions.
Responsibilities
- Draft commercial loan closing documents, purchase and sale agreements, correspondence, and memoranda
- Review loan commitment letters and prepare transaction and closing checklists
- Coordinate and review title, survey, zoning, insurance, municipal, UCC, litigation, bankruptcy, and corporate due diligence
- Prepare and coordinate pre- and post-closing packages
- Handle post-closing matters, including e-recordings, recording issues, final title policies, document transmittals, and outstanding undertaking items
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing transaction-related funds with the firm's Finance Department
Requirements
- 6+ years of legal experience involving commercial real estate transactions
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate financing and closing processes
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines
- Strong judgment, initiative, and commitment to client service
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-assisted legal resources
