• This Executive Assistant serves as a key partner to the Vice President of Philanthropy, providing administrative, operational, and donor engagement support to help advance United Way for Southeastern Michigan's fundraising and relationship management efforts. This highly visible role works closely with philanthropy team members, donors, volunteers, committees, affinity groups, and internal departments to ensure a seamless experience for supporters and stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing calendars and schedules, coordinating committee meetings and events, preparing presentations and agendas, maintaining donor records within the CRM system, supporting donor communications, overseeing mailings and tax receipt processes, and helping to execute projects that contribute to the success of the organization's philanthropic initiatives.
• The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. They are comfortable using technology and business systems, including CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Success in this role requires strong organizational and project management skills, the ability to work independently with minimal direction, and a professional, customer-focused approach when interacting with donors, volunteers, and colleagues. This position follows a hybrid schedule with regular in-office collaboration and occasional evening or weekend event support, offering an opportunity to play an important role in strengthening relationships that help drive positive impact throughout the community.

Requirements

• • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred, with some college or secretarial coursework experience
• • A minimum of 3-5 years of secretarial/administrative experience, including
• 1-3 years supporting a senior-level manager or director
• • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including additional
• Microsoft Suite programs such as Teams, Mail Merge
• • Strong time management skills
