Job description
- An Epic Physician Billing Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic Professional Billing module within a healthcare organization. This role is vital for ensuring accurate patient billing, claims processing, and reimbursement for services provided by individual healthcare providers such as doctors and therapists.
- This position requires being onsite five days per week during training. After training, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule with Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays onsite in Hicksville or Garden City, NY.
Responsibilities
- Configure and customize the Epic Professional Billing application to meet business needs and workflows
- Maintain and support the Resolute Professional Billing module, including charges, benefit engines, and collection agency workflows
- Perform ongoing system maintenance, updates, and testing of system changes before migrating to production
- Analyze financial workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency
- Collaborate with IT, finance, and operational stakeholders to align Epic workflows with business needs
- Serve as the primary support contact for Epic Professional Billing end-users, including troubleshooting billing and reimbursement issues
- Provide training, education, and procedural documentation for system users
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, coding updates, and system upgrades with each Epic release
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Current certification in Epic Professional Billing
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Epic Professional Billing, including charge router, work queue configuration, collection agency workflows, statement processing, benefit engine, and estimates
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, medical billing codes, and insurance procedures
- Familiarity with professional billing vs. hospital billing differences
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience providing end-user support and system training in a healthcare environment
