Job description

• Job Description: Candidate will gain skills and experience with accounts payable and travel for a government contractor. Candidate will enter and maintain accounts payable transactions in the ERP system, setup new vendors and maintain accurate vendor records, and respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances. They will also assist employees with travel inquiries and expense reports, assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, and assist with various audits. Candidate will learn and maintain a working knowledge of FAR, cost accounting, and direct vs. indirect costs.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accounts payable transactions in the ERP system
• Setup new vendors and maintain accurate vendor records
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances
• Assist employees with travel inquiries and expense reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Assist with various audits
• Learn and maintain a working knowledge of FAR, cost accounting, and direct vs. indirect costs

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
• 1+ years of experience working in an accounting role
• Advanced knowledge of Excel along with good working knowledge of all other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Experience with Unanet and Concur
• Knowledge of FAR and DFAR supplements
• 1+ years of experience working in an accounting role for a government contractor
