- Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the construction materials and contracting industry, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support its California operations.
- This is a high-impact, hands-on role supporting a unionized workforce in a fast-paced, operational environment. You will play a key role in driving employee engagement, ensuring compliance with California employment law, and supporting business expansion initiatives.

Responsibilities
- HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Support day-to-day HR functions including employee files, reviews, surveys, and compensation administration
- Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on policies, benefits, and employee relations matters
- Investigate workplace concerns while maintaining strict confidentiality
- California Compliance & Labor Relations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support reporting requirements (EEO-1, VETS, and related filings)
- Partner with leadership in a unionized environment, supporting collective bargaining agreement administration
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruiting including postings, interviews, screenings, onboarding, and exit interviews
- Support workforce planning and organizational development initiatives
- HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Utilize HRIS and ERP systems to maintain data accuracy
- Contribute to HR process improvements and operational efficiency
- Assist with acquisition integration and expansion efforts
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent HR experience
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience
- Experience within construction or construction materials environments
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and compliance regulations
- Experience supporting unionized workforces and collective bargaining agreements
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems
- Bachelors degree in HR, Business, or related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or California-specific certification)
- Experience with HRIS/ERP systems
- Experience supporting acquisitions or organizational growth initiatives
