• Position Title: Benefits Concierge
• Position Overview: As a Benefits Concierge, you will serve as a technical benefits resource and an integral member of the People & Culture team. This role supports the administration of the Credit Union’s employee benefits programs, with a strong focus on medical plan administration, medical billing review and processing, vendor coordination, eligibility reconciliation, claims-related issue resolution, and accurate benefits data management. The Benefits Concierge partners closely with employees, managers, benefit vendors, brokers, third-party administrators, payroll, finance, and People Operations to ensure timely service, accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience throughout the benefits lifecycle.
• Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week). Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
• Compensation Range: $23.00/hr. - $30.00/hr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*
• Location: Hybrid in the following locations: Endwell, NY | Saddle Brook, NJ | Randolph, NJ | Muhlenberg, PA, | Reading, PA
• Employees receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support when navigating benefits, claims, billing questions, and wellness programs.
• Benefit enrollments, eligibility updates, vendor communications, payroll-related transactions, and billing processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Self-insured medical plan administration is handled with strong attention to detail, accurate data reconciliation, clear documentation, and timely escalation of complex issues.
• Medical and benefit-related invoices are reviewed, reconciled, and processed on time, with discrepancies identified and resolved through effective vendor and internal partnership.
• Open enrollment and wellness initiatives are well-organized, highly engaging, and positively received by employees.
• Benefits programs remain compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Strong partnerships are maintained with vendors, brokers, third-party administrators, managers, finance, payroll, and internal teams.
• Opportunities to improve benefit offerings, billing processes, reporting, and employee education are proactively identified and implemented.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support all employee benefit programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit offerings.
• Support day-to-day administration of the self-insured medical plan, including eligibility maintenance, enrollment accuracy, carrier/vendor file coordination, claims-related research, and employee issue resolution.
• Review, reconcile, and process medical, dental, vision, COBRA, and other benefit-related invoices, ensuring billing accuracy, proper documentation, timely payment coordination, and resolution of discrepancies with vendors, brokers, third-party administrators, payroll, and finance.
• Serve as the primary employee resource for benefit enrollment, life event changes, claims or billing questions, escalations, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and ongoing benefits communications to ensure employees understand and maximize their benefit offerings.
• Partner with brokers, vendors, payroll, finance, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate processing, billing, reporting, compliance, and auditing of benefits programs.
• Maintain accurate benefits data in HRIS and vendor systems, including enrollment records, payroll deduction updates, demographic changes, dependent eligibility information, and required documentation.
• Lead wellness initiatives and employee engagement programs that support the health and well-being of our workforce.
• Manage People Operations inquiries through the P&C ticketing system, delivering responsive, accurate, and employee-centered support.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and complete required reporting, filings, audits, testing, and documentation related to employee benefits administration.

Requirements

• An associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1-3 years of experience or 3-5 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience supporting employee benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, and voluntary benefit programs.
• Experience reviewing, reconciling, and processing benefit-related invoices, including medical billing, vendor billing, payroll deduction reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
• Knowledge of self-insured medical plan administration or demonstrated ability to learn self-funded plan operations, eligibility processes, claims workflows, invoices, and vendor coordination.
• Basic HR, accounting knowledge, financial acumen, and the ability to interpret billing records, enrollment data, and benefits reports with accuracy.
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing benefits, including HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA, and related compliance requirements.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs, especially Excel, and HRIS or benefits administration systems.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, analytical thinking, follow-through, and customer-service orientation.
• Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation, SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification
