The Energy Deals Desk is a critical function within Trafigura's Energy business, sitting at the intersection of commercial trading, operations, finance, and risk management. The department is responsible for the ownership, management, and accurate reporting of deal-level Profit & Loss (PnL) across the energy trading book. The Deals Desk acts as the central control function that ensures all physical trades, derivative hedges, and associated costs are correctly structured, attributed, and reported - from deal inception through to final settlement.
