Job description
- Your mission is to build the U.S. market for a new intraoperative diagnostic approach and convert that market development into paying customers. You will create awareness, earn credibility with surgeons and KOLs, develop clinical reference sites, and lead complex hospital opportunities from early clinical interest through commercial adoption. You’ll identify and develop opportunities with cancer centers, academic hospitals, and surgical oncology programs, connecting with clinical, executive, operational, and financial stakeholders. Working closely with the entire XEOS team, you’ll help establish a customer-centric and growth-focused presence in the U.S. while shaping how AURA 10 is introduced, adopted, and scaled in the market. #WeAreXEOS
- Success in this role will be measured across both sides of the mandate: commercial performance and strategic market development. This includes:
- Generating bookings and revenue and securing new paying customers
- Converting rental and clinical evaluation sites into long-term commercial placements
- Developing qualified new sites and advancing priority accounts through the sales cycle
- Building strong relationships with surgeons, KOLs, and future clinical reference centers
- Initiating and progressing strategically important clinical evaluations
- Creating a healthy, well-qualified pipeline that supports sustainable U.S. growth
Responsibilities
- Drive U.S. market creation and business development: build awareness for a new intraoperative diagnostic approach, open doors, and identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with cancer centers, academic hospitals, and surgical oncology programs.
- Personally lead direct sales efforts for AURA 10 PET-CT systems, converting early clinical interest, evaluations, and rental sites into placements, paying customers, and long-term partnerships. Keep a special focus on customer satisfaction.
- Translate our value proposition into an actionable sales plan, and help define marketing campaigns that generate qualified leads.
- Manage the full sales and partnership cycle (9–12 months) — clinical evaluation, procurement, and contracting — including capital budget approvals and Value Analysis Committee processes.
- Build and own relationships with surgeons, KOLs, strategic pilot sites, and future clinical reference centers. Support clinical evaluations and surgical cases, collect feedback, and translate early clinical enthusiasm into broader hospital commitment and commercial adoption.
- Support market segmentation, and U.S. go-to-market strategy development in close collaboration with Market Access, Marketing, and Product & Applications. You will own the account, customer, and commercial relationship, while Market Access will provide the reimbursement, health-economic, and value-analysis strategy and tools needed to advance and close priority accounts.
- Progress priority accounts through each stage of the commercial journey—from initial engagement and clinical evaluation to value analysis, procurement, contracting, and commercial close.
- Represent and support XEOS at U.S. conferences, congresses, and trade shows.
- Get in-depth insights and knowledge of the market from different angles — prospects, funding sources, competition, partners, customer trends — and feed this back to help shape our go-to-market strategy.
- Report to the CCO and ensure clear communication with all internal XEOS stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must-have
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- At least 10 years of experience in a commercial role in the medtech sector.
- Proven track record in selling high-value capital equipment through complex hospital decision-making, procurement, capital budget, and Value Analysis Committee processes.
- Proven experience successfully introducing a novel medical technology into a new or underdeveloped market and personally converting early clinical adoption into complex hospital sales.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, engage, and develop surgeons, KOLs, early adopters, and clinical reference sites.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, including the dynamics of decision-making in hospitals, surgical departments and oncology centers.
- Comfortable with CRM tools and structured pipeline reporting.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the U.S. and periodically to XEOS's headquarters in Belgium.
- Excellent English (written and spoken).
- Nice to have
- Experience in clinical sales, being in the operating room, is a real plus
- Background in imaging technologies, nuclear medicine, oncology, or diagnostics
- Experience launching a disruptive product into a new healthcare market
- Prior general management, P&L, or business-planning exposure
- Potential and ambition to help build and lead a broader U.S. sales and market-development team once sufficient market traction has been established.
- MBA or other business/management qualification
- Additional languages
- Don’t tick every box? Relevant experience matters, but so do curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the right mindset. If this role excites you and your experience is a strong—even if not perfect—match, we encourage you to apply. Let’s find out together whether this could be the right fit.
