Inventory Control Coordinator at Cornerstone Building Brands in Independence, MO, United States

Job description

• The inventory control coordinator position manages inventory through database and maintains levels required on a daily basis to meet distribution demands. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels by conducting routine cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting overall inventory control efforts. This role ensures proper material flow and availability for production while adhering to company policies and quality standards in a light industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Enter data for quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments, into computer database.
• Close shop packets received and purge computer database.
• Receive and issue finished goods into computer database.
• Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.
• Record and monitor all items with shelf-life daily and notify appropriate personnel when material has expired.
• Prepare monthly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights.
• Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, materials handling, or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems (SAP preferred) and basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in inventory control or supply chain preferred.
