Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory tests and procedures to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, ensuring timely and accurate results for patient care.
• Responsible for specimen collection, test analysis, and maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• The Medical Lab Tech I performs routine laboratory tests and procedures to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, ensuring timely and accurate results for patient care. This role is responsible for specimen collection, test analysis, and maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program. Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited institution; completion of a clinical laboratory internship or equivalent practical experience.
• Completion of a clinical laboratory internship or equivalent practical experience as part of an accredited program.
• Eligible for certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized accrediting agency such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT); must obtain certification within 6 months of hire if not already held.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. One to two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. State licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician, if applicable.
