Software Engineer — Technical Documentation Contributor at Specific Specialists in US only

Job description

• This remote contract role is for software engineers and technical documentation contributors based in the United States who write human-authored technical documents. Acceptable document types are design docs, RFCs, ADRs, technical proposals, PRDs, migration plans, postmortems, build-vs-buy analyses, experiment docs, and capacity/reliability planning. The work is not source code, not AI-written, and not blog posts or tutorials. Contributors should be the author or primary author of English-language documents of 3–10 pages. Review is within 1 day. Apply by submitting a 1–2 document sample on the marketplace and saying how many documents you can contribute.

Responsibilities

• Write human-authored technical documents (design docs, RFCs, ADRs, technical proposals, PRDs, migration plans, postmortems, build-vs-buy, experiment docs, capacity/reliability planning).
• Submit work that is original, human-written, and not blog posts or tutorials.

Requirements

• Currently based in the United States (remote contract).
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Software engineer / technical documentation contributor.
• Can write in English.
• Author or primary author of 3–10 page technical documents.
• Will apply with a 1–2 document sample and state how many documents they can contribute.
