Business Development Lead at Destro in New York, NY

Job description

• We're hiring our Business Development Lead to build and run Destro AI's outbound pipeline engine. This is a hunting role focused on identifying the right people at the right companies, securing qualified calls, and consistently filling the founder's calendar with high-quality conversations. The primary measure of success in this role is the number of qualified calls generated for the founder.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and generate new leads within our ICP through cold outreach, LinkedIn, trade shows, and networking events.
• Build and maintain a network of relationships across our target titles, including automation engineers, innovation engineers, continuous improvement engineers, and solutions managers at the manager and director level, as well as VP and Director of Operations and Supply Chain roles.
• Focus outreach efforts on top third-party logistics companies and top retailers.
• Conduct account and contact research prior to outreach to ensure messaging is relevant and specific to each prospect.
• Design and execute multi-touch outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn, and phone, refining messaging based on performance.
• Represent Destro AI at trade shows and industry events, building new relationships and expanding the qualified pipeline.
• Qualify leads prior to booking to ensure calls scheduled on the founder's calendar meet a consistent quality bar.
• Schedule qualified calls directly on the founder's calendar and maintain a consistent flow of pipeline.
• Track outreach activity, connections, and booked calls, and report on performance to continuously refine approach.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in outbound business development, sales development, or a hunting-focused sales role, ideally within B2B, SaaS, industrial, logistics, or robotics.
• Demonstrated ability to build pipeline from cold outreach rather than relying on inbound leads.
• Strong track record engaging prospects at trade shows and networking events.
• Proven LinkedIn outreach and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with supply chain, warehouse, or 3PL operations is a strong plus.
• Highly organized and metrics-driven, with the ability to track and report on personal performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter capable of building and refining a prospecting process independently, particularly in an early-stage environment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
