Job description
- Are you a people-focused professional with a passion for healthcare? We’re looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team across Darwin Private Hospital and the Palmerston Health Precinct.
- 🕒 Full-Time 12-month fixed term | Monday to Friday | Shifts between 7:00am – 5:00pm
- 📍 Based across Darwin Private Hospital & Palmerston Health Precinct
- 🔁 Rotating role between front reception and phone-based shifts (6 weeks reception + 2 week phone)
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient records, and general admin tasks
- Handle incoming calls and assist with patient inquiries and bookings
- Coordinate referrals and liaise with medical professionals
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and their families
- Work collaboratively with the broader team to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong customer service mindset
- Confident using computer systems and medical software
- Ability to multitask and stay organised in a busy environment
- Reliable and available to work full-time hours (Monday–Friday)
- Occasional weekend availability is a plus
