- As a Staff Software Engineer within the Credit Risk Profile Squad, you'll play a hands-on technical leadership role designing, building and operating secure, scalable and resilient services that support credit risk decisioning across the Bank. Working closely with product, architecture and engineering teams, you'll help translate technical strategy into high-quality solutions while mentoring engineers and uplifting engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate cloud-native services, APIs and data products
- Deliver scalable solutions that support credit risk decisioning.
- Contribute to modern service-domain and event-driven architectures
- Lead technical design, code reviews and complex problem solving.
- Champion engineering excellence across testing, observability and operational readiness
- Support modernisation initiatives and migration of legacy platforms
- Mentor engineers and help strengthen engineering capability across the squad
Requirements
- Have strong experience building and operating software at scale.
- Bring expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
- Have experience with distributed systems, streaming or event-driven architectures.
- Thrive in a "you build it, you run it" environment.
- Have modernised legacy platforms into cloud-native services.
- Enjoy mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
- Are curious about AI-enabled engineering and emerging technologies.
