• Overview
• EMSL is seeking a Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I in Carle Place, NY. This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples from in person customers and shipping carriers
• Open packages; handle, count, sort environmental samples to ensure sample integrity is retained
• Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness
• Enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system for all lab divisions
• Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations
• Generate invoices and reports for clients as needed
• Assist with customer or client questions via in person, phone, and e-mail
• Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele
• Able to work in a high volume environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and sit and stand for various lengths of time
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
