Northeast Sales Manager at Vail Resorts in Hybrid, Remote, US

Job description

• We are seeking one Sales Manager to join our Northeast Regional Sales and Service Team to actively drive group business across five iconic northeast mountain resorts while embodying Vail Resorts’ mission, values, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences.
• This high-impact, revenue-driving position is based at Mount Snow or Okemo Mountain in Vermont, and collaborates with a Sales and Service Team managing groups for Mount Snow, Stowe Mountain Resort, Mount Sunapee, Okemo, and Hunter Mountain. The role offers a blend of time dedicated both in-resort and working remotely to secure group business while collaborating closely with our resort teams in creating The Experience of a Lifetime for our guests.
• You are an individual who demonstrates agility and adaptability, takes initiative, and thrives as a team player. Must have exceptional communication and computer skills along with strong mountain business instincts (or knowledgeable about skiing/riding). Travel will be required.
• This role is ideal for someone who creates opportunities, not waits for them—a relationship-builder who understands how to open doors, close deals, and grow accounts while contributing positively to a high-performing sales and service culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain productive business relationships with lodging partners and key bookings to increase group lines of business
• Solicit, close, and contract group business using strong negotiating skills and creative selling techniques
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future booking activities, including sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
• Exceptional communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt, and effectively leverage new technologies, systems, and digital tools
• Provide quick, timely responses and immediate communication to stakeholders and clients
• Provide customer intelligence and evaluate market trends. Develop strategic sales plan accordingly
• Coordinate and lead sales missions, trade shows, and conferences
• Attend internal stakeholder meetings to drive resource efficiency and report on business updates
• Other duties and support of other departments may be required

Requirements

• College education is preferred
• Proven success in a similar role or environment
• Any combination of education and sales training will be considered
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience within Opera/OSEM is helpful
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• Candidate must be able to travel weekly to Mount Snow and Okemo for in-resort expectations
• Flexibility for additional travel as needed
• Phone required for client-facing roles – phone plan is available (candidate must either opt into company plan or assume responsibility for a business phone solution)
• Company-use IT Technology Kits are provided for job requirements of corporate remote employees. Any additional items will be at employees’ expense
• IT Technology Kits include: Dell laptop and charger, Wireless mouse, Headset
• The expected Total Compensation for this role is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
