• The R&D Data Quality team within the Analytics Lifecycle organization is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for the end-to-end development of SAS Data Quality applications and features — the key means of providing quality data to drive and feed SAS Analytics.
• In this role, you will drive multiple product’s growth, evolution, and support by leading a high-performing team. You will have a significant impact in this strategically important area in the Analytics Lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the team, including development and testing, internal and external communication/collaboration, performance management and improvement, and professional growth.
• Understand the career objectives of your team members and support them on their journey to achieve them.
• Work with product management, project management and development team to understand, refine, and scope for planned work.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver intuitive, high-quality, customer-focused experiences.
• Ensure that projects are completed and implemented in a timely manner while following established procedures and schedules.
• Regularly communicate development and testing status, project risks, resource requirements and allocation, and other relevant knowledge with upper management.
• Ensure R&D standards and guidelines are followed per established criteria, including adoption of the appropriate technology and architecture standards.
• Become actively involved in daily operations and duties as needed to meet schedules or resolve complex problems or issues.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a quantitative field, preferably computer science, math, or statistics.
• 12+ years of experience in software development, software engineering, software testing, or enterprise software delivery.
• Experience in leading projects to deliver high quality, scalable, performant and secure code.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Agile software delivery practices and modern software development methodologies.
• Experience collaborating across engineering, product management, user experience, and operational teams.
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
• Proficiency with all aspects of the software development/testing lifecycle .
• A strong work ethic .
• The ability to learn quickly, operate comfortably, and make decisions within a complex environment with incomplete information .
• Strong decision-making abilities
• Experience in one or more of the following languages: Go, React, Java, C/C++, Python.
• Experience with REST and in particular Viya 4 REST APIs
• Experience with SAS Compute coding and in particular usage of the Quality Knowledge Base procs and functions
