- Baristas at Blank Street do a lot more than make drinks, they set the tone for the whole experience. As part of the founding LA team, you'll have outsized influence on how Blank Street shows up - and first access to growth opportunities as we expand across the city and beyond.
- We’re looking for people who genuinely care about hospitality, bring great energy to busy shifts, and pay attention to the small details that make a big difference. You’ll be working with a tight-knit team that takes pride in what they do, serving a focused menu, making drinks the right way, and creating moments that keep people coming back.
Responsibilities
- Delight our customers with consistent, welcoming and engaging hospitality, taking the opportunity to turn every customer into a regular
- Be an integral part of our world class team using the best equipment, coffee, and matcha in the industry
- Maintain a clean and organized environment upholding both Local Department of Health and Blank Street standards at all times
- Partner with our Operations and Marketing teams for events and promotions to expand our brand to new customers
- Continue to train and evolve with the company, driving ever higher standards and improving process along the way
- Set your team up for success by mastering different company procedures such as cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening and closing processe
Requirements
- Friendly and enthusiastic player who is passionate about hospitality — you’re always ready to make a customer’s day
- Adaptable and open minded — we’re evolving as we grow so you’ll have to be flexible as things change
- Detail obsessed — you take pride in the small details to make things right
- Intentional and purposeful — you act with ownership to keep shifts running smoothly, efficiently, and with rhythm
- Passionate about coffee and/or matcha — you lead by example and share that enthusiasm with customers
- Inclusive — you are comfortable working on a diverse team and know how to bring different personalities together
- 1+ years’ experience in a customer service position, preferably in hospitality or coffee
- 18+ years of age
- Able to lift 25+ lbs, and to stand for long periods of time
- Availability that meets the needs of our cafes
- Part Time: 15-25 hours per week, 3 days per week and must be able to work 2 peak days (peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Full Time: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days per week and must be able to work 2 peak days (peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Weekend and holiday availability preferred
- Blank Street will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
